Why This Guide Exists
Michigan public-record rules do not turn every custody question into a single searchable file. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office operates the Oakland County Jail and its current-custody route through CLEMIS; courts keep the case record after an arrest; and the Michigan Department of Corrections OTIS search serves a different group of people who are in state custody or supervision. This guide identifies those official paths, including Oakland County’s FOIA Request Center, without copying their records or photographs.
